The Story

The first sound a house makes in the morning is water — the tap, the bowl, the cupped hands. We cut this basin from a single block of Indian green marble, drawn from the Udaipur quarries that have supplied the lake palaces of Mewar for generations. The surface is left in its native depth — moss, fern, the shadow under a river stone. The bowl is hollowed by hand and the rim turned outward in a soft curve, so the lip meets the palm gently. It stays cool against the skin in any month of the year. A small daily greeting from the earth itself.
