The legend

Svagata — “welcome”.

A guest’s first contact with a room is not the table they sit at — it is the stone they are greeted across. Svagata is a single block of Bhainslana Black cut to stand at the threshold and take that greeting: a hip-height monolith, one continuous face turned to the guest, the working shelf kept low on the host’s side.

There is no veneer to lift at the corner where a hundred hands a night come to rest. The grain runs unbroken across the front because the front is one stone. The piece is the welcome, not a sign standing on it.
