The legend
Ekashila — “one stone”.
Thirteen centuries ago, royal sculptors at Mahabalipuram carved whole temples — the rathas — each from one granite boulder. Ekashila, “one stone”, continues the boldest idea in Indian masonry: a complete dining table cut from a single block, nothing joined, nothing added.
Every Ekashila is carved to order in our New Delhi atelier — the block chosen with you, the proportions tuned to your space, the surface finished by hand. Reference size: 240 × 110 × 75 cm, in a honed matte finish.
At Mahabalipuram, entire temples were carved from single rocks.
